Learn to weld and eliminate the fear factor! This hands-on class for teens will teach you everything you need to build your own small wall or yard sculpture. You will learn basic metal fabrication techniques and the use of equipment such as MIG welders, grinders, chop saws, and other metal-working tools . You can choose to make artwork for your yard or your wall using scrap and found metal objects. Materials will be steel and/or found metal - feel free to bring your own metal pieces. Safety instruction and safety gear included.
This class is for teens 13-18. Requires registration and waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
This project has been generously funded by a grant from the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance.

This class is for 5-12 year olds. They will expand their creativity by learning poi spinning and hooping, or simple techniques for decorating their bikes, or play in the community garden and go home with a planting. We will provide the materials - they provide the enthusiasm.

Build your own propane fire torch! Learn propane plumbing, soldering/copper sweating and safe hookup for your tabletop, bike, art car or back yard. You will go home with a completed custom fire torch ready to light! Feel free to bring your own torch head and tanks if desired. Materials fee will reflect actual product used ranging from $20-$45.
